Jeremy Grows a Car: Clarkson Rebuilds a Jaguar F-Type — His First Car Project on TV Since The Grand Tour Ended
Prime Video has ordered a one-off Clarkson's Farm special in which Jeremy Clarkson turns a Jaguar F-Type V6 S into a car partly grown on Diddly Squat Farm, with the F-Type's original designer, Ian Callum, on the team.

Jeremy Clarkson is going back to cars. On October 8, 2026, Amazon announced Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson's Farm Special, a one-off Prime Video episode in which Clarkson tries to build a car largely from what his Oxfordshire farm, Diddly Squat, can produce. Amazon's own pitch is that, frustrated by modern motoring, he has decided that if he wants a new car, he won't buy one — he'll build one.
The donor car is a Jaguar F-Type V6 S, the version of Jaguar's two-seater with the 3.0-liter supercharged V6 rated at 375 hp (380 PS) and 339 lb-ft. Clarkson plans to retrim it with Diddly Squat leather and wool carpets from his own livestock, and to replace parts of the bodywork with a flax-fiber composite made from a flax crop he will try to grow on the farm. Amazon describes that material as a sustainable alternative to carbon fiber.
He is not doing the design alone. Ian Callum, the designer who penned the original F-Type and the Aston Martin Vanquish and now runs the design and engineering firm CALLUM, is helping to redesign the car. Amazon says the goal is a Jaguar with everything Clarkson thinks the British brand should stand for: style, luxury and performance. That is a pointed brief: Jaguar stopped building the F-Type in 2024, after 87,731 cars, and has since been reinventing itself as an all-electric luxury brand.
Is flax a serious material or a farm joke?
It is more serious than it sounds. Natural-fiber composites are already on real cars: in 2019 Porsche's 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport became the first production race car with doors and a rear wing made of a natural-fiber composite, developed with the Swiss company Bcomp and based mainly on agricultural fibers such as flax. Porsche said the material comes close to carbon fiber in weight and stiffness while taking less energy to make. Growing the flax yourself, in an English field, and turning it into usable body panels is the part nobody has tried on television — and the part most likely to go wrong in the entertaining way the show depends on.

Why this counts as a comeback
This is Clarkson's first car-led project on TV since The Grand Tour ended for him, Richard Hammond and James May. Their last episode together, One for the Road, filmed in Zimbabwe and Botswana, streamed on September 13, 2024, closing a 22-year partnership that began on Top Gear. The Grand Tour itself has since returned with a new trio — James Engelsman, Thomas Holland and Francis Bourgeois — whose series launched on September 4, 2026. Clarkson's Farm, meanwhile, keeps going: series 5 aired earlier this year and series 6 is in production for 2027.
The special is made by Expectation, with Andy Wilman, Peter Fincham and Zoe Brewer as executive producers — Wilman being Clarkson's long-time producer from Top Gear and The Grand Tour. It will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories in 2027. Amazon has not given a date, an episode length or a trailer yet.
For car fans the interesting question is the finished car: how much of a working F-Type can realistically be swapped for farm-grown material, and whether Callum's redesign changes more than trim and panels. Amazon has released only two production stills so far, one of which shows Clarkson with the F-Type's front bodywork off in a workshop. We will update this story when Prime Video sets a date or releases a trailer.
